nuclear thermal

so far nasa is exploring two options for propulsion there ? a nuclear thermal rocket and a chemical engine.

In these technologies, one of the most promising technologies for the future exploration to deep space may be Nuclear Thermal Rocket Propulsion.

The chemical rocket has been used during the former exploration events. Today, some new propulsion technologies, such as laser, solar energy, microwave and nuclear thermal propulsion are presented.

it's a fairly well-known technology, but it's not as efficient as nuclear thermal.
